Start Date : Spring term 2010 (negotiable)
Job Duration : Approx 8 weeks (3 hours per week/session)
Salary : Professional Rate of Pay
We require an experienced freelance Tutor to give sessions in either Dance, Drama, Music or Performing Arts to children and young people of primary school age who attend a local after school club. They must be fun loving, enjoy the company of children and feel confident to relate to staff and children alike.
Our core reasoning for the project is to develop children’s self-expression, confidence and experience of the arts. We are keen to find a professional who can use physical activity in the core of their practice so that the children have the opportunity for expression through movement as the winter months are long and it is integral to the children’s health and wellbeing to keep active.
There is a possibility that the final outcome could be a show or performance however we are eager for the workshop programme to be developed in consultation with the chosen arts tutor.
Duties and Responsibilities
You must be:
- able to enthuse children and young people
- able to plan and evaluate sessions and performance outcomes
- able to work after school hours
Skills / Qualifications / Experience Required
You will have:
- training and qualifications in either Drama/Dance/Music/Performing Arts
- ability to relate to a wide range of ages
- experience in working with children in an out of school setting
- Enhanced Disclosure
