Theatre Modo is looking to recruit for a range of posts for its work in the North East. The posts are for a variety of events taking place in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire between June and November.
Parade Stage Manager: Working with the rest of the team to ensure the smooth running of the project and parade. Would suit someone who has experience of working on large events and who can cross over from making to organising. Working alongside makers to deliver workshops, and alongside production team to ensure all participants have the required props, costumes and big makes.
Project Logistics Coordinator: Responsible for the logistics and coordination of the project. Duties will include keeping track of finances, participation, procurement, press contacts, community communications, room bookings and consents. Would suit someone who is highly organised and with proven events management skills.
Costume Makers: Working alongside the design team to create and make the costumes for parades and projects. This role can be part time, and could work on a discrete commission basis, with makers being commissioned to make particular sets of costumes. Would suit someone who has the flair to make striking costumes from basic (cheap) materials and someone who is good at imaginative ways of costuming large numbers of participants.
Assistant Workshop Leaders: Assistants will train with an experienced member of the Modo team to deliver social circus tasters in the Highlands and Islands, Aberdeen and Aberdeen-shire. Training will cover the skills and methodology Modo uses in delivering social circus workshops, and will hopefully lead on to further opportunities.
Trainees/Volunteers: Modo is always interested in hearing from folk who would be interested in training or volunteering, whether your interest is, leading workshops, making props or costumes, or helping with the coordination, publicity or organisation of the event
